Day 148- January 21, 2011

Reason number 82710 why you can't take me anywhere...

So dinner tonight was kind of ridiculous so I thought I should share.  I've heard there was a good Samgyeotang (Basically a small chicken cooked in a pot of water and stuffed with ginseng and rice) restaurant in the Myeongdong (shopping part) of Seoul. Since Aimee and I were staying close to there, I thought we could check it out seeing as it is one Korean food I haven't eaten yet. Seeing as Aimee does not eat chicken or meat, unfortunately there was nothing for her to eat, but it was too late to turn back, they already put kimchi on our table :/ Anyways, I was the usual federal disaster zone that tends to happen when i eat, and Aimee continued to laugh at me the whole meal. Ultimately, it was a lot of hoo ha over chicken soup, but it was cold so i was happy.

Day 147- January 20, 2011

The sisters Heilbrunn at Bongeunsa Temple. We saw a tea ceremony, learned about Buddhism, mad lanterns and practiced meditating.

Day 128- January 11, 2011

1-11-11 (Make a wish?)

Notice the box on the right side in the middle. It says: 10 Days, 15 hours, 44 minutes and 18 seconds until I get on that plane to JAPAN!!!! Bring it on vacation!!!

Day 137- January 10, 2011

A silly picture I forgot about from the first week I was there. Just a gigantic visor that many ajummas will wear. Of course it's my favorite color! I'm reminded of how stifling hot it was by my lack of clothing. It makes me remember the exact sights, sounds, smells and feelings of my first weeks in Korea. Oh how life changes so quickly in just four months.

Day 136- January 9, 2011

Embellishment on a beautiful cabinet that I found. The picture doesn't really do it justice, and is not my taste, but i thought the craftsmanship was outstanding.

Day 135- January 8, 2011

The correct pronunciation is fook-fah-kay. I'm betting money that my parents will yell at me for posting this, but its pretty quiet around here, not much in the name of pics this weekend.

Day 134- January 7, 2011

Sometimes its nice just to take interesting pictures.
