| So as I was getting my nails done with Jackie today, I get a phone call from my coteacher telling me tomorrow was my birthday (really? I hadn't noticed). She said I will come at 7:00 am to bring you food. What?!? Okay. How about 730? Okay. So she comes to the door and brings me this Korean feast! According to Jackie, it is a tradition for mom's to bring their children "birthday soup" very early in the morning and that when you aren't at your parents home, it is kind of sad. So this was a really really sweet way for my coteacher to help me celebrate my birthday! |

| Today I finally got to walk around a bit on the army base in Pyeongtaek. I was blessed (or cursed) to have been placed in a town with both an a US air force base and army base within 20 minutes of town, so I have a bit more America exposure compared to my other teacher counterparts. I've been really curious to know what it was like on post, so I went to meet up with a friend and checked it out. |

| You know whats not fun, asking kids the same question 800 times. These are the (ridiculous) questions that I have to ask each student, wait to hear the same memorized response and give them a score that has a minimal impact on their final grade. It's tough being a Native English Teacher. |

| I went to the outdoor market in Pyongtaek today, and every other stand was rice cakes. I needed so much will power not to buy them. I did buy a cornish hen for 3 dollars though. |

| So this is from Oscar's going away party this weekend. He's really the first friend I've had to say goodbye to since I got here. It's strange about Korea, people are always coming and going, but one things for sure: we all will make the best of the time we have together! |

| So you all know about Soju by now. In songtan, they make these amazing delicious watermelon Soju drinks that are equally tasty as they are deadly. 100% soju + love = a great night (+/- a really bad hangover). |

| We knew I would get sick enough at some point to warrant seeing a doctor. Well, the day came this week and it was wonderful. Literally in and out in 20 minutes, for 20 dollars and I'm on my way to getting better. Korea seems to have the whole medical system down pat. |
