A look inside a Korean bathroom
So this is my school bathroom. On the left, can you guess what it is? Yes a communal bar of soap that you rub very suggestively till your hands are potentially less clean then they were before. On the right is all the teacher's toothbrushes. Yes after lunch, we all go chill in the bathroom and brush our teeth.
| Random new tree in the bathroom. Just had to acknowledge. |
On the left, a fancy toilet with many buttons. The first time I saw it, I couldn't find the flusher nob (which was where it usually is, hidden behind the seat cover. Obviously i couldn't read the buttons, so i just preshed one that looked like a flusher. All of a sudden a hose squirted out water all over the place and I didn't know how to stop it. All the while my coteacher was waiting for me as i furiously try to clean up this mess i made. Anyways the buttons allow you to.. ahem, clean those areas. they also leave the seat nice and toasty. Kind of weird, but surprisingly nice. On the right, we call these "squatters." Koreans are really good at squatting, and this is a common sight to see. Super awkward and I avoid them as much as possible.
| Why are there trash cans in each stall? Seems pretty standard. Not really, you're not supposed to flush your used toilet paper, so you just throw it in the can to stink up the place. Kinda nasty. |
