| #3 thing that I won't miss about Korea...teaching (or lack there of). Now I want to be clear, my school has treated me amazingly, and I have met some amazing students with a strong passion to learn English. At the same time, I rarely taught in comparison to my fellow teachers (both korean and foreign) and was generally unfulfilled/ unpassionate about the job itself. Most importantly, the year give me exactly what I needed, time off (mentally) from school, and the opportunity to travel and evaluate my priorities. Additionally, this year has made me realize that I want to help students in ways other than teaching them the reading writing rhythmatics. (Good thing I'm going to be a psychologist). So while I will greatly miss my coteachers (a hint for a later blogpost perhaps) and some of my students, I will not miss teaching at all! |
